Heath Bowen
Drums
Heath was drawn to drumming as early as his days in elementary school. Crafting and building a makeshift drum kit out of metal cans in his back yard and using limbs as sticks. While in the sixth grade he began his percussive training in junior band and instantly knew that he was infatuated with playing anything associated with drums.
During high school he progressed further in percussion as a leader in his high school marching drum line, tympanist for the symphonic concert band, drummer for the high school jazz band as well as the pep band. Since high school, Heath has performed with numerous rock, country and pop bands around Alabama.
Wanting to try something different he started a journey into the blues experience and has never looked back.
Heath is a small collector/restorer with drums of all ages scattered in every room of his home.

He has played several musical styles including Rock, Jazz, bluegrass, Americana, Folk, Blues, and Reggae. He enjoys creating whether it be music or working on his own musical instruments.
Peter O’Hare
Guitar
Peter is all about the guitar and has been playing since age eleven. Since then, he's been a voracious consumer of guitar styles, primarily self-taught with a few lessons here and there over the years.
Peter cut his teeth in the blues with Alabama Bluesman Willie King who revealed to him the true human story behind the Blues. Playing with Willie from small juke joints in the rural south like Betty’s Place to the bigger stages such as Birmingham’s City Stages festival Willie’s biggest lesson was “If you got it in you, you got to let it out”.
Go to his house and you're likely to find him answering the door with a guitar in hand, cooking up a storm of a meal, tending his vegetable garden or hanging with his wife and children. With the Automatic Slim Blues, you'll find him doing what the song calls for; tender fingerpicking, manic strumming, melodic soloing or conjuring up lush textures to help tell the story behind the song.
